President Saakashvili visits Zugdidi
President Mikheil Saakashvili visited Zugdidi, Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region, on November 20 to meet with the governors of the nine regions of Georgia. The governors reported to the President on the work done in their regions. At the meeting President Saakashvili demanded from the governors to outline future priorities after meeting with the public. "We should revise the issues we are going to solve in the near future in order to insure public satisfaction and realize their expectations," President Saakashvili told the governors.
In Zugdidi the President opened a new building of the district prosecutor's office and a fountain in the center of the town. President Saakashvili addressed the public gathered at the fountain opening ceremony and stressed that the government is making all the efforts to timely solve existing problems. "I am sure that the time when all of us will rally to unite Georgia will come soon. We started liberating Tbilisi from Samegrelo and we will start uniting Georgia from here, from Samegrelo," the President said, adding that the Georgian government is taking care of both, the general appearance and development of the country. "Very often we are being reproached for opening new fountains, however at the same time we are opening schools. Yesterday we opened a modern military division in Senaki, Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region. Next year we are starting repairing and reequipping all big schools in Samegrelo. We are continuing building roads, improving energy system etc," the President said.
In the center of Zugdidi President Saakashvili also visited a canteen for vulnerable people, opened under the initiative of the National Movement Party. "You are the most honorable people. You did lots of things for our country, therefore it has to ensure that you are fed," President Saakashvili told to the people at the canteen.
