Head of Administration

David Tkeshelashvili was born on 16 October, 1969 in Tbilisi. In 1996 he graduated from Tbilisi State University with MA degree in Legal studies. In 2005-2006 he got LLM in Legal Studies from Emory University School of Law in Atlanta, USA.

For eleven years, 1995-2006 he was a Member of the Parliament of Georgia.

In 1995-1998 he was a Deputy Leader of the Majority Faction.

In 1998-2002 he was a Chair of the Youth Union of the Citizens' Union Party where he led and managed activities of the Union.

In 1999-2003 he chaired the Sub-Committee on Relations with NGOs and Media at the Human Rights Committee of the Parliament of Georgia.

In 2003-2004 he served as a Head of Staff to the Prime Minister of Georgia.

In 2004-2006 he was MP under Budget and Finance Committee of the Parliament.

In 2006-2007 he served as a Minister of Environment Protection and Natural Resources of Georgia.

In 2007-2008 he was Minister of Labor, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia.

In 2008 he was appointed as a State Minister for Regional issues.

In 2009-2010 he was Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia and First Vice Prime Minister of Georgia.

From July 2010 he is a Head of the Administration of the President of Georgia.

Married, has two children.
